Selling straight from Instagram

bb161103-instagramBefore long the first test group of 20 companies will get the chance to use Instagram as their shop. J.Crew, JackThreads and Warby Parker will be amongst those first 20. Facebook subsidiary Instagram follows Pinterest, Twitter and Facebook.

Instagram thinks it can add value to the existing mobile purchase process by offering product information in their own style. The process will look something like, placing a product photo with tags (prices, which will appear when someone clicks the photo.

The clickable tags will lead the potential buyer to a separate page with more information. The purchase will be completed on the mobile friendly page on the site of the actual seller.
