Polestar press moves to Germany

A big Polestar rotation press is moving from Sheffield (UK) to Gotha Druck und Verpacking in Thüringen (Germany). It is a Goss Sunday 96 page heatset rotation press. This megapress had only been installed in May this year, but because of Polestar´s bankruptcy the print factory in the UK has been stopped. Polestar´s initial plan was to build a supersite in Sheffield for offset production. This supersite included the rotation press.
Plans are for the press to start production in Germany at the beginning of 2018. At the moment 11 96 page heatset presses are working in Germany, 3 at Mohn Media in Gütersloh, and 2 each at Weiss-Druck in Monschau, Stark Druck in Pforzheim, Neidermayr in Regensburg und Bagel in Meineweh.
