Paper industry against Trump

The European paper industry criticized American President Trump´s decision to withdraw from the Paris agreement. Sylvian Lhôte from the branche organisation of paper manufacturers CEPI says that Trump is endangering all efforts to combat climate change. Lhôte also thinks that Trump is wrong in thinking that environmental measures are bad for industry. CEPI´s Director General remains in fighting spirit “Europe will have to stay strong to show that the battle against CO2 emissions can go hand in hand with investments and healthy competition. The European paper industry is set to decrease CO2 emissions by 80% by 2050 and at the same time increase investment by 40% and create 50% more value”, according to Sylvian in an interview with Grafisch Nieuws.
