HP does biggest client deal ever with Lightning Source LLC

HP and American Lightning Source LLC, part of the Ingram Content Group, have agreed on a deal worth millions of dollars which will change the distribution and sales model for all book publishers in the world. The deal is the biggest ever for HP´s Graphics Business. HP will supply 24 new HP PageWide T240 HD colour and mono digital presses for five locations on three continents. Ingram Lightning Source allows publishers to upload a pdf of a book. Customers can order the book online. The book is then printed in one of the global locations. For Europe this is the UK. The books are printed and delivered to the customer at lightning speed. Lightning Source does not charge for p&p. It is a worldwide automated print to order system which eliminates the need for minimum orders and storage.
