Thomas Knoll: I never imagined that my digital darkroom would turn into a product such as Photoshop

Thomas Knoll19 February marked the 25th anniversary of Adobe´s Photoshop which turned the imaging world upside down. From that moment on high investment in tools as sold by Scitex and Crossfield were no longer necessary. With an Apple Macintosh any creative designer who wasn´t scared of the steep learning curve could use Photoshop to create the most beautiful pictures right at home. Photoshop was based on Thomas Knoll´s work. Knoll, a enthusiastic photographer, wanted to have a digital darkroom to perfect his images. Together with his brother he built a prototype of the software which later would become Photoshop and made Adobe into the most successful software company in the industry.
