Printable paperboard lids for food packaging

Paper manufacturer International Paper Foodservice Europe has designed a paperboard lid especially for take away soup and other hot or cold foods. Contrary to current food lids which have two layers, this design has only one paperboard layer. Instead of small vent holes the paper lid has specially designed pleats to allow the steam to escape and secures the lid to the food container. This means that the lid can be printed on the upper side. The manufacturer has two options, Carte Blanc (unprinted) and Translations, a stock design featuring words to describe culinary flavours in four languages.
