Desktopography: your whole desk will be one big touch screen

Carnegie Mellon University´s Future Interfaces Group has come up with a way to make a touchscreen from your desk. With hardware consisting of a mini projector and a 3D camera which can be screwed into your desklamp Desktopography miraculously changes  your desk into an interactive workspace where you can manipulate objects. It is a cheap alternative for the Microsoft Surface table and picks up where the Xerox PARC Digital Desk in 1990 already showed what is possible with this technology. Contrary to the Digital Desk you do not need a heavy computer, the Desktopography software works with a standard computer.
