Amazon wants to 3D print order en route to customer

AmazonGlobalAmerican webshop Amazon has submitted a patent for what might become a ´mobile factory´: a truck which would print the product with a 3D printer en route to its customers. In other words, you order, the truck leaves for your address and during the trip the product is being printed using a 3D printer. Amazon wants to kill two birds with one stone, the client will have less waiting time and the web shop will have less storage space, because the product isn´t produced until it´s ordered. Amazon would send the data file to the 3D printer in the truck, after which the truck leaves for the customer. Especially relatively simple spare parts would be suitable, the web shop thinks.
