Lorem Ipsum ??

Many creative souls, publishers and printers use it, the dummy text ´Lorem ipsum….´ But where does this come from? A Latin professor, Richard McClintock, has done some research. It seems that we need to go back to the year 45BC.  In the Latin text of De finibus bonorum et malorum (The extremes of Good and Evil) the line Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet can be found. It appears to be a text by Cicero about ethics. This Lorem ipsum was introduced by an unknown printer in the 16th century and has been used as dummy text ever since. It still works very well in the design of a lay out or for the production of a dummy. The words do not distract from the design and it helps in determining the lay out of text blocks.
