HDR TV: the difference between print and screen is becoming bigger again

The High Dynamic Range televisions which were announced during this week´s IFA Berlin will make the difference between print and screen bigger again. The deep blacks which can be achieved with HDR as well as the colour scheme will be impossible for standard printing. Inkjet and offset will need more than the four CMYK colours to achieve a similar quality, but more than that they will need knowledge and special software to get the best results. What also makes sense is to alert designers and customer to the differences to prevent disappointment.
