BB151117 horloge epaperThis week Sony will launch a watch in Japan which can change colour and pattern by using epaper. Sony announced this on 16 November. The FES watch was developed by an internal start up who raised money to produce the watch via crowdfunding.
Both the face and the wristband are made of epaper. Through the touch of a button a different pattern will appear which gives the watch a different appearance. The watch is not a smartwatch and only shows the time. The battery is supposed to last for two years. Retail price will be 29,700 yen, approximately 225 Euro. We do not know if the FES watch will become available outside of Japan.
