Getty expects to make 1.5 million photos during the Olympics

BB160727 Olympische spelenGetty Images will be the official photographer for the Olympics and Paralympics in Rio de Janeiro. The Getty team is ready to do so and expect to make more than 1.5 million photos with their team of 120 people.

Photographers naturally want to get their photos to the head office as soon as possible so that they can be used for publication. To do this they will use a superfast 100 kilometer long glass fiber network between the 32 Olympic locations. The photos will be on the Getty Olympics website in less than 120 seconds.

Of course an event like the Olympics will be captured in 360º, just because we can. So everyone will be able to enjoy the Olympics from their own home. The Olympics will be held in Rio from 5 to 21 August.
