3D printing brings Wonder of the Ancient World to life

Stratasys, one of the first and biggest 3D printer manufacturers, has resurrected an ancient Greek sculpture which has been lost. The sculpture by Phidias, from 423BC of Zeus at Olympia, was reconstructed based on an image which did survive. The reconstruction shows what 3D printing can do. The sculpture is the centre piece of an exhibition The Games: Ancient Olympia to Atlanta to Rio, opening on 20 August 2016. More information via this link.
